UPDATED October 2, 2014: This article was originally written to prevent our ASG-Cypress clients from experiencing issues before a patch from ASG could be released. I am happy to announce that the new ASG-Cypress thin client interface fully supports IE 10 and IE 11, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari and works on all tablet devices.

asg cypress, document management, workflow automation, cloud based erp solutions, cloud based accounting software, cloud based erp software, sage hrms, sage 100 erpAs of April 30, 2013 ASG-Cypress, the renowned document management and workflow automation suite, is not currently compatible with the latest release of Internet Explorer 10. Unfortunately IE is the only browser supported by Cypress at this time due to its requirement for IE’s Active-X controls to be present. While Cypress works fine with earlier versions of IE, IE10, which made it’s debut on Windows 7 in February of 2013, ASG still has a few bugs to work out.

ASG announced the issues to their partners and resellers stating that they are working on addressing the issue. It’s important that you ignore updates for IE10 for the time being until ASG can roll out an update to Cypress. According to ASG, they hope to have the issue fixed in Cypress 7.2 in the next couple of months, though if worst comes to worst then the fix will be released in Cypress 7.3 during the first quarter of 2014.

If you have already upgraded to IE10 and are experiencing problems. Please follow these instructions to downgrade to IE 9:

  1. From the search bar in the Start menu, type ‘appwiz.cpl‘.
  2. Next, select ‘View installed updates’ to show all updates to Windows 7. This is how updates get rollback in Windows.
  3. Next, select ‘Windows Internet Explorer 10’ and select Uninstall
  4. Restart your computer and enjoy IE 9.
